When pre-visualizations, zvi and view shed studies are needed, Wind Imaging services are available for precise photomontage images.

The process: With ability to read all of your xml project files, Wind Imaging uses DeLorme’s Xmap software to read your locations for the images to be taken. Using a laptop with gps the software guides us to the location. Once out of the vehicle, a handheld gps unit zeroes in on the exact location. Then using a digital rangefinder(accurate to 0.5˚) attached to the camera the field of view is set. The camera is then leveled using the spirit level on the tripod and an inclinometer. Typically using a 50mm lens the image is taken. Field notes are taken, file number, time of day, date, weather conditions, etc are all logged. Then a reference point within the image is noted and described on the notes. That point is then traveled to and a GPS coordinate is taken.

All images are delivered digitally, via data disc or ftp download.
